Hi,
I can deploy printers via GPO perfectly fine to any client machine however i
can not get it to work on our terminal server.
Important things to know:
1. The terminal server is using Loopback addressing.
2. The Printer GPO is attached to the Terminal Server OU.
3. If i add the pritner GPO to the OU that the user is apart of then the
user will get there printers deployed when they logon to the terminal server.
4. If i do a gpresult on the user when they login to the Terminal server it
says they are getting the Printer GPO user based settings.
5. If look at C:\windows\prefetch it doesnt show the
pushprinterconnections.exe file on the terminal server. When i do this to a
users PC it does.
Summary
It appears that the pushprinterconnections.exe file isnt loading properly in
a TS environment using loopback addressing. I have to add the printer GPO to
the OU that the user is apart of to get it to work. All of the other
userbased GPO settings on the Terminal Server are working perfectly fine.
Thank you
