GPMC SP1 (1.0.2)
I've found the following message at settigs -> administrative templtes ->
extra registry settings:

"Display names for some settings cannot be found. You might be able to
resolve this issue by updating the .ADM files used by Group Policy
Management."

Setting
Software\Policies\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\AuthRoot\Certificates\2C62DB6A9F3DC3BBC78FDA45378FD4ABDAE2A6C3\Blob

State
Unknown data format

This message appears at my management station (XP SP2) and at my server W2K3
Sp2.
Anyone knows how to correct this? The message says about updating .ADM
files, but I have no idea....

TIA,
Paulo

That basically happens when GPMC cannot find an ADM template file to a
policy setting. Any idea if all ADM template files are present in SYSVOL
in the policy's ADM folder? You maybe need to re-import

cheers,

Hi Florian,

What exactly do I have to check?
I know I have a lot of .adm files inside the "GUID Folder names".

Thx,
Paulo

One of the ADM templates that were used to create the certain policy you
receive the error message for is missing now, so GPMC and Group Policy
Editor cannot find data to display it correctly.

My guess is that the ADM template you used both isn't in SYSVOL and
isn't on your local machines, so hopefully you have backed it up
somewhere to recover it. Did you recently install a Service Pack on the
management machines?
